WebP is a lossy format, so some detail is discarded. Use the quality control to decide how much — around 80% is normally indistinguishable from the original, while lower settings trade visible artefacts for smaller files.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit imposed by the tool, because there is no server to upload to. The practical ceiling is your device's available memory — very large images may be slow on an older phone.
